Dr. Keith D. Lawrence
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
A native of Trinidad, West Indies, with an infectious smile, a calm outward disposition, a fiery demeanor in the pulpit, a willingness to help everyone, and a man truly called by God.
A THRIVING CAREER
Over the last forty-two years, Dr. Lawrence has served with distinction as an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. His visionary leadership and guidance has been shared with Rita’s Memorial AME, Trinidad, West Indies; St. Paul AME Church, Madison, Georgia; St. John AME Church, Fairburn, Georgia; New Bethel AME Church, Lithonia, Georgia; and in 2003, God gave Dr. Lawrence a vision to start a global ministry, and he planted the seed in fertile ground and named it Global EmPOWERment Ministries (GEM), “A Ministry without Limits.”

GOALS AS A BISHOP

Dr. Lawrence has resolved that every member of the church be equipped through edUcation biblically, theologically, and denominationally. He is resolute in providing enCouragement to pastors and people serving at the margins in urban, suburban, and rural communities across the Connection, and Dr. Lawrence is positioned to use his academic prowess to emPower the church to trust the Word of God in advancing and multiplying the kingdom of God for the people of the African Methodist Episcopoal Church.
